Gladden Fields is a new single family home situated on a retired golf course in rural Michigan. The design was a close collaboration between OAP and the client, a custom home builder.

The site reclaims previously manicured fairways and greens and returns them to native Michigan grasses. The design prioritizes access to nearby fields and ponds while framing views that were once experienced only by those playing the back nine. The house is organized to respond to both the changing seasons and the rhythms of family life. Intimate spaces for reading and conversation are balanced with rooms that comfortably host gatherings of neighbors and friends.
